Special Programs

Students at Muswellbrook South Public School are supported by a number of special programs, including:

Priority Schools Program (PSP)
Muswellbrook South is in the enviable position of being able to provide a breakfast program, additional literacy and numeracy tutors and extension programs, through additional funding provided by the NSW Department of Education and Training in its Priority Schools Program. Read more >

Schools in Partnership (SiP)
SiP is another highly beneficial NSW Department of Education and Training initiative aimed improving outcomes for all students. This initiative has a focus on reducing, with a view to eliminating, the achievement gap in student learning outcomes for concentrations of Aboriginal students. Through the SiP initiative staff have been trained in Count Me In Too, Accelerated Literacy, Quality Teaching, and Cultural Awareness. Read more >

Support Unit for students with special needs
Students
with special needs are supported in two dedicated classrooms with fully trained teachers. Students with a variety of intellectually and physical disabilities are accommodated.
